I feel like the Bruins could have done more, but I’m not completely disappointed.
They added two defenseman to help take the pressure off of Chara with the absence of Dennis Seidenberg.
Andrej Meszaros from the Flyers and Corey Potter who they claimed off of waivers from the struggling Edmonton Oilers.
But I would have liked for them to go after someone along the lines of Jack Johnson or Nikita Nikitin from Columbus.
And for everyone saying the should have gone after Vanek, they do not need any more depth at forward, especially with the ones we have now starting to click and play their best hockey. But it does worry me he went to Montreal and how good he has been against the Bruins.
The Bruins played the type of hockey we have come to expect. Solid game all around. They were hard on the forecheck and shut down Washington’s top scorers. Rask got his league leading 6th shutout, facing only 16 shots(to the Bruins 43.) And it was nice to see Eriksson getting back into the action, scoring his 7th goal of the season.
This win keeps the Bruins atop the Atlantic division, ahead of the Montreal Canadiens.
It was also nice to see Mark Recchi again, who dropped the first puck.
Hi, somehow you’ve come across my blog. This is where I’m going to ramble on about the Boston Bruins (and possibly other things going on in the NHL/college.)
I go to as many Bruins games as I can, and have been trying to go to some local college games.
I live 25 minutes outside of Boston.
